Le programme de formation continue s‘adresse à des personnes possédant un titre universitaire ou jugé équivalent et qui souhaitent acquérir une formation en cours d‘emploi solidement fondée et orientée vers l‘avenir en archivistique et en sciences de l‘information. Elles se qualifient ainsi pour des fonctions de cadre dans un service d‘archives, une bibliothèque ou dans la gestion de l‘information d‘une administration ou d‘une entreprise.
Un défi commun pour tous les professionels de l'information:
"Four issues in particular are uniting information professionals, regardless of their specialties: (1) the need to manage massive stores of discrete, but often interrelated digital objects; (2) the need to build preservation into the creation of digital objects even if they are only to last a decade; (3) the reliance on technology; and (4) the need for technology to accommodate library, archive, and museum perspectives along with providing access and facilitating and ensuring preservation."
